What is SMS Reads?

SMS Reads is a summer reading program aimed at creating a shared reading experience among SMS students, teachers & staff. Emphasis is placed on reading for pleasure and community building. Students will choose a book to read from a list of 50 titles. Over the summer they will read their books, and in September they will meet in a book group with other 6th, 7th & 8th grade students who selected the same title. Each book group will be facilitated by 1-2 SMS teachers or staff members.
